2) London


Regardless of where you live in the UK, London is a brilliant place to come for a weekend away. There is so much to see and do in this wonderful city that you can easily fill up your weekend. The easiest way to get around London is by public transport, either by Tube or bus, so it is worthwhile getting yourself an Oyster card, which you can keep topping up when you need to. 4)  Paris


Paris has long been a popular choice of destinations for a weekend break, and it was only right to feature the French capital on our list. You can reach Paris in approximately 2 ½ hours on the Eurostar which will take you directly to the city, or alternatively you can bring your car on the Eurotunnel and take a road trip from Calais to the famous city of love. Once there, there is so much to do, you really will not be disappointed. From visiting the Eiffel Tower, to sampling traditional French cuisine, Paris is the perfect weekend spot for both couples and families.

5) Dublin


Flights from Gatwick to Dublin take as little as 2 hours, making it brilliant for a weekend escape. It is a brilliant location to visit if you are on a tighter budget – if you are flexible in the dates that you travel, you can get flights for under twenty pounds, and once you are there, there is a huge choice of hostels that you can stay in which will not cost the earth, and will leave you with more money to explore the city.
